22/52

a portrait of my child, once a week, every week in 2014

A Memorial Day weekend trip to the mall resulted in: two tiny hockey sticks (one goalie stick and one regular stick...obviously), a set of foam pucks, and the word "hockey" entering Sage's lexicon. As you can see, even a trip to the park now necessitates a hockey stick.

The playground-hockey-stick routine goes as follows:
-throw the hockey stick up to the top of the playground ladder
-climb ladder
-pick up hockey stick at the top
-choose slide
-throw the hockey stick down the slide
-go down the slide
-meet hockey stick at the bottom and repeat as many times as necessary
(or until your mom decides it's time to leave)

Some kids have security blankets.

This one, however, has a hockey stick.
