Watching: New Girl. I love this show and I love Zooey Deschanel. I have been a fan of this show since the first episode. I have the biggest girl crush on Zooey Deschanel...I have cut blunt bangs more than once after watching her movies and thinking to myself "dang, she is just the cutest thing" (haha!). This show never fails to crack me up. The last episode has a part where Jess (Zooey's character.. yes, me and Zooey are so close we are on a first name basis..) starts crying in an interview after seeing a picture of a tiny puppy in a teacup. I had to rewind it and watch it about 3 more times then I had to show it to my sister and her friend so I could laugh about it again. Thank goodness for DVR!
Listening to: I've been listening to a lot of country lately. The new Taylor Swift CD came out and I'm channeling my inner 13-year-old girl. I'm also sort of having a major guilty-pleasure moment with the new Kesha song, it's my new "Call me Maybe".
Planning: Lessons! After being done with college for almost three years I am so excited to finally be planning lessons. I my first teaching day today and it's definitely going to be a challenge, but I'm ready to get the kids back on the right track and hopefully make them more confident in a subject that they struggle in. I have been finding some really fun ideas across different teacher blogs. This morning was my first staff meeting so I was introduced to the staff. Everyone was really excited and made a point to stop me in the hall and offer any help if I needed it. Coming in and taking over a classroom is a huge undertaking, and it makes me feel great that I have staff support if I ever need some back-up. I can't wait to really get started and delve into concepts Monday!
Thinking about: My mind is in a million different places right now. I'm thinking about growing up, I'm thinking about moving and having a special place for me and Sage. And I'm thinking about time management. Being a single mom who works two jobs is too much. I narrowed it down to just my teaching job; my part time job had to go, for more than one reason, but I believe that they timing on things is always right and it was time for me to walk away from my retail job. I'm excited to have evenings after school to spend with Sage. He is getting to be so much bigger and more aware, I don't want to miss even one milestone.
Looking forward to: I've been shopping around for a new apartment. I found a townhouse I am in love with, I just need to wait for my current lease to be finished. I've been gathering little things here and there to put in my new space when the time comes. Expect new blog segments after the big move about my adventure moving with an infant and decorating our new space. I have always had an interest in decorating and design, so I see this apartment as a blank canvas where I can really set down roots and make it my own.
Reading: blogs, blogs and more blogs. I'm really finding some awesome blogs out there that are giving me some great inspiration for my own writing and photography. I'm really loving a couple in particular, and I will be posting links to my favorites tomorrow. I am inspired by some of the amazing moms out there. I can only hope that my blog makes people feel a connection to me the same way I feel connected to other people through their blogs. Okay, I am starting to sound sappy, but it's really amazing that people who would have never connected before are able to connect through the internet.
Making me happy: Knowing that Haydn, Sean AND Colin will be here next week for THANKSGIVING! I feel like I'm going to burst I'm so excited! All parties involved should expect to be photographed constantly. Earplugs should also be provided for the men enduring the chicken coop that is the Jensen house. Jensen girls are LOUD. And that's without putting them in the same room. When we get together it's unbearable, especially if we haven't all been together for awhile. We know. We get excited. And we have loud voices. But it only happens a couple times a year.
Plus, I have a cute Thanksgiving outfit for Sage and a photobooth idea for family pictures. Thanksgiving is really one of the best holidays, it's so great to have a whole day dedicated to family and being thankful and just eating and loving.
This sure is a whole mess of thoughts. Enjoy your Thanksgiving and hug your family. It really is a special time of year.xo
